Trailer Analysis and Inspiration
Blair Witch Project (1999)
We Have already broken down this trailer in order to create our swede. The trailer uses many different effects in order to show the difference in time. As we have used this for our Swede we like the style in which it was filmed and will use it to inspire out final trailer. All the way through there is only ambient sound, which we have decided isn't as effective as dramatic and fast paced sound, thought it works with this trailer.
Knock Knock (2015)
This trailer is quite effective as it initially starts of featuring the protagonist, played by Keanu Reeves, living a normal life. The colours used for this section are very light to reflect neutral safe atmosphere. However once his family leaves the lighting becomes low key indicating that something is wrong. The soundtrack also supports this as once the women rape him the music becomes very low and sinister. It can also be noted that the pace of editing speeds up towards the end of the trailer this indicates that the tension is increasing.
Black Swan (2010)
The idea of the trailer is to highlight the most attractive aspects of the film there are many fade to black sections in the trailer which signify danger and things of a sinister nature. The pace of the shots vary; this is to make the trailer seem more thrilling, the longer shots are used to hilight something important where as the faster shots are more gripping and intense. There is a mixture of soundtracks this creates a eerie atmosphere.
Them (2006)
We took inspiration from the antagonists and the modern way that they are portrayed within this film. Many other horror films use a classic slasher and stalker look but Them uses a much more modern spin with using people in hoodies providing a much more different perspective to an antagonist.
