We found that the masses were searching for infection due to the recent Ebola outbreak. Strangely we also found that at the same time people were searching for supernatural. This could be due to the rise of all things supernatural in the last 10 years. Movies like twilight have introduced the supernatural to a younger market and now the supernatural genre is more popular than ever. The graphs also show that the interest in slasher various, I believe this is down to popular already existing slasher franchises. For example when Scream 5 comes out popularity in slashers will go up as more people are introduced to the genre but new additions to the genre don't take off massively because people know the already existing ones so they know what they're getting. Infection stays at a steady stream of interest. Therefore a film to do with an infection is a safe bet that it will have interest. Supernatural on the other hand is getting more and more popular over time with it reaching its highest level of popularity midway through 2013. Therefore Google trends has taught us that the most interest is in supernatural.
