Swede Trailer
We have decided to try and recreate the trailer of The Blair Witch Project. I thought of the idea as it was known for being the movie that started off found-footage horror films. Films that copied the found-footage train include infamous horrors like the Paranormal Activity series, Grave Encounters, and V/H/S.
The Blair Witch Project follows a group of 3 film students who go to investigate the legend of the Blair Witch. The start of the film mostly involves them asking locals in the area about this legend and most warn them to stop now before anything bad happens to them. However, they ignore this and continue on their investigation until they start seeing strange goings on in the forest. They cannot leave the forest as they are lost as well. The film ends with the final girl finding an abandoned building in which has marks of children's finger prints etc and also she manages to find the Blair Witch which supposedly kills her by possessing people.

Paranormal Activity
Paranormal Activity is now one of the most well known horror series in the world. They have recently released the film trailer for the newest of the series, The Ghost Dimension. With the first film being on a budget of only $15,000, the series became a massive hit which grossed over $100,000,000 in the US alone. The films tell the stories of people who encounter poltergeists within their home in which they possess a certain family member and make them do horrible things. This was one of the first films to work upon the found-footage concept since The Blair Witch Project but managed to do a lot better with it's audience.
Grave Encounters
Grave encounters was basically a rip off of The Blair Witch Project, however instead of being in a forest, there are poltergeists within an asylum. The characters are the creators of a ghost hunting show called, Grave Encounters. The movie has copycats, however. Films that copied this movie exactly include The 50th episode and The Last Episode. The film was a lot more expensive to that of The Blair Witch and Paranormal Activity but also a lot less successful.

Ideas of our trailer
After watching my fair share of horror films in my time, I wanted our group to be able to do something more paranormally based as last year me and Matt had not been able to come up with a decent supernatural idea for our OTS. So this year i made it my mission to persuade our group to do something involving a poltergeist or evil kind of entity.
As i was scrolling through Facebook, i came upon a story about the infamous Dyatlov Pass Incident in February 2nd 1959. The Dyatlov Pass Incident was a infamous event in which involved 10 Russian ski trekkers. They camped deep within the Ural Mountains. A few days after they were due back, a search party was sent and what they found i found to be an inspiration towards a great potential horror film. The trekkers' tent was found ripped, but from within by claws or a sharp object. The bodies found had wounds which involved one of the victim's' innards being shredded but with no entry to the inside of the body. Many other bodies were found to have cracked skulls and were said to have been killed by hypothermia.
However, theories around this include the theory that there was a entity or ghost that had attacked them and killed them one by one. This theory being mostly around the woman that had her insides ripped apart but with no real entry. The incident has led to many people wanting to know more about what really happened as the police just saw it as a murder from the nearby Masi tribe.
In 2015, there has been a game about this incident called Kholat. Kholat being the place of the deaths in the Ural Mountains. It is a Polish made horror game in which puts you in the shoes of one of the investigators involved in the investigation. The game has tried to imagine that the incident was more the fault if a paranormal being, rather than what the original investigators decision.

The Ghost Club
As i was casually searching the web for a new idea, I found what i first thought to be a fake club. It turns out this "Ghost Club" is actually a respected society that delves deep into paranormal activity.
Founded in 1862, it is the oldest institution that still involves itself with paranormal research. Throughout the year, the club hold investigations around thousands of sites to research and hopefully develop into the argument of, Are Ghosts Real? The club is made up of voluntary workers and who all believe it is important to involve themselves to find a real answer to the old age question.
The history of the club is mostly around the University of Cambridge as its first member include University academics, clergymen and weirdly enough, Charles Dickens. After the death of Dickens, the club took a hit in members but reopened in 1882 and worked side by side with the Society of Psychical Research (SPR). The club attracted the most controversial of members like Sir William Crookes who was involved in a scandal with the medium Florence Cook.
The club also celebrate November 2nd. They celebrate this day, All Souls Day, and have a feast. They say that the living and the dead Ghost Club members both attend and that their presence is always felt.
I found this intriguing to maybe base our trailer upon as they could maybe be seen as a cult by some and if we involved them in a horror trailer, they could be seen as being rather obsessed with their views of ghosts and the paranormal.
